Hey y’all,
Super pumped for the set I put together this fall! As I may have mentioned on here previously - I’ve been rotating through about 3 hours worth of material - kind of on a seasonal yearly cycle. All of this material will eventually be on the visual album I’m currently working on. The three main tunes for the Fall are “Crash” (which is basically a mashup of Dave Mathew’s Band crash and David Cronenberg’s film, “Crash”), “Fire Walk With Me”, and "Things We Wanted in the 90s” - as you can problem tell from these titles, this set uses mostly 90s source material which is collaged together and such. Out of the four sets/quarters of the visual album - this is the darkest, simultaneously the silliest, and the most out rhythmically (or at least so far). Also this will be the first set that will be brought to you in complete quadrophonic stere-ereo
The first show I’m playing it will be on Halloween at a house show in JP (Trendy Shit Town). Space is limited and I’ll be on super late - but if you really want to go, get in touch and I can give you the address.
Then the next weekend on Saturday November 8th I’ll be playing “Fire Walk with Me” at the Democracy Center for Calamity #8 - a variety show consisting of dance, comedy, and music (FB Event Page)
Then on Friday November 14th I’ll be playing at the Watermyn Co-Op along with Happy You, Pixels, and Animal, Esq. Happy You just released their new record, “Giggle” which you can check out on their bandcamp.
I’ll probably play one more Boston area house show with this set, as maybe a family friendly version of some of it around the Thanksgiving weekend for those of you who want to catch it.
Much love,
Mike
